Steffan spent his childhood accompanying his dad to the labs at UCSC and UCSB, developing a lifelong interest in technology in the process. Steffan served for 8 years, 6 months, and 28 days in the United States Navy as an IT, beginning his career at the help desk aboard the USS Nimitz at the age of 19. He has since worked in technology in both the public and private sectors, including the University of California San Diego School of Medicine, Avis Budget Group, iconic luxury retailer Tiffany & Co, and the legendary advertising firm BBDO.
Steffan is married to a Jersey girl, with whom he has 3 children.
